My Training
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and a registered member of the UKCP(UK Council for Psychotherapy). I have undergone extensive training at WPF Training, one of the most respected psychotherapy institutes in the UK. The training was centred in the psychodynamic approach. It involved not only the study of various analytical approaches but years of supervised clinical practice as well as my own personal therapy.
My Approach
My approach is client centred letting the client raise whatever they want in the session then exploring those feelings, thoughts or behaviours associated ,including any unconscious links that maybe contributing to their distress. I believe in the importance of the relationship between client and therapist, it can offer insight into previous relationship patterns as well offer a safe supportive non-judgemental base to explore emotional difficulties.
Additional Experience
In addition to my formal training I have long term experience as a Mental Health Advocate working with clients to understand their emotional and practical needs to help them live a fulfilled independent life. I also have experience volunteering with children with special needs including autism, ADHD and various physical disabilities.
